
Michael Rutigliano is a seasoned engineering leader with over four decades of experience driving innovation across diverse industries, including semiconductors (Fairchild, Intel, Amkor), food packaging (Footprint), and medical devices and solar. He has a proven track record of success in developing and implementing advanced processes and equipment automation solutions.
His expertise spans from concept to commercialization, with a strong focus on establishing roadmaps, mitigating risks, and rapidly prototyping solutions to achieve customer design wins. Throughout his career, Mike has led the development and factory deployment of over 100 machines and systems globally, consistently exceeding program goals for yield, capacity, and cost. He is a renowned creative and collaborative problem-solver with a strong passion for building value quickly and delivering stable, high-capability processes.
Before joining the Blue Waters Engineering team, he held the position of VP Equipment and Process Development, leading custom machine development for compostable food packaging at Footprint. At Intel, he significantly contributed to Intel's leading-edge assembly/test R&D roadmap for over 35 years, gaining extensive experience in CPU, Si photonics, thermal solutions, fine pitch tooling, and advanced packaging, enabling high revenue for each product generation.
He also started an assembly factory for Fairchild and worked as a Test Development Manager, collaborating with customers at the forefront of the semiconductor industry on emerging die stacking and multi-die integration methods. Mike has routinely led high-performing cross-functional teams, managed complex projects, and established robust supply chains. He holds 25 patents and has a strong focus on continuous learning and staying abreast of emerging technologies. Mike holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Buffalo State College and an AAS in Electronics from Morrisville Technical College.
